A small village in the Alentejo.

Monte Cerro da Vigia is located in the rural village São Luís, in the Alentejo of Portugal. Situated directly on one of the beautiful hiking trails of the Rota Vicentina, a hiking trail with a total of more than 340kms, fully marked, in Natural Park Sudoeste.
The little village São Luís is located in the Providence Baixo Alentejo between Cercal and Odemira on the N120-road Lisbon-Algarve, about a 2 hours drive from the airport of Lisbon as well as the airport of Faro and only 15 min. away from the coast and beaches. Between São Luís and the coast lies the beautiful nature reserve Parque Natural Sudoest Alentejano Costa Vicentina, a perfect place for quiet nature-walks. São Luís is actually located directly on one of the beautiful walkingtrails 'Historical Way' of the Rota Vicentina, going from Cercal to Odemira. The nearest beach-town is Vila Nova de Milfontes (15km), mainly occupied with portuguese tourists, where you can find lots of lovely restaurants and shops. It has only some hotels and campsites. Here the river Mira, the cleanest river of Europe, ends in the Atlantic Ocean and you'll find beautiful beaches, on the river-shore as well as on the Ocean-shore. Perfect environment for everybody who likes hiking, biking, horsebackriding, surfing, etc., or who just wants to fully relax.

Cerro da Vigia consists of 3.7 hectares and is located high on a mountain side, which offers spectacular views over the overwelming surroundings. The house is within walking distance (10 min.) of the center of São Luís which offers a variety of small shops and cheap restaurants. It consists of two parts; The main house, where the owner himself lives during his presents in Portugal, and a separate guesthouse.
